There Will Be a Time

A poem of hope for all of our supporters and members in these very difficult times that there will be a time when all of our favourite sport makes a return.

There Will Be a Time

There will be a time

When the shrill of a referee’s whistle starts a match,

When the full back makes his first catch,

Although it might feel like far away,

There will be a time, there will be a day

There will be a time

When the pubs are packed like sardines in a tin,

When through the faces you see your friend’s cheeky grin,

Together you’ll make the familiar walk to the ground,

To take to your seats and make a collective sound,

There will be a time

when the referee will make a mistake,

Or the striker’s injury is clearly just fake,

But before we moan, we’ll remember what really matters,

Like when someone’s life lies in tatters.

There will be a time

When we can sing, and laugh with other fans,

And we really appreciate our Grandads and our Grans,

When we have our sport back that we so love,

And we can watch with those watching from above,

There will be a time

When the referee blows the final whistle and the fans all peter out,

When we remember what Saturdays are all about,

Although it might feel like far away,

There will be a time, there will be a day.

Stay Safe - Louis :)
